I made jewellery entirely by hand, unique pieces.
I am the daughter of an antique dealer and an advertiser. I lived the first 30 years of my life in Milan among furniture, objects, and fabrics since I was a child and, thanks to a seamstress grandmother, at a very young age I learned how to sew, knit and cut fabrics with authentic passion.
I moved to Turin and for a few years, I slowed down the pace of work to be a mother. Now that my brightest jewels, my two children, are a bit older and independent, I went back with joy to creating for all women and men more capable of daring.
During my maternity years, I’ve filed new jewellery projects enriched with stones and with the infinite colours of fired enamels, for which I am experimenting with new techniques, confident and eager to show them as soon as possible.
I am self-taught, with a taste for experimentation and research.
I work alone because I like to be inside every jewel.
I love working at night: in silence, I find my space and my time.
I start from ideas and use my hands to forge metals and transform them into sculptures to wear: I don’t design, I directly shape each prototype. It’s the material that through colour, shape, or thickness, suggests the processing to me.
I work exclusively with cold welding and antique tools from a nineteenth-century studio: hammers, saws, screwdrivers, files, awls, pliers, cutters, scissors, sandpaper, and pillows filled with desert sand.
I prefer poor metals: brass, bronze, copper, and silver, convinced that a jewel is precious more for its style and flair than for its economic value. An antioxidant treatment preserves these materials in their splendour.
On request, I can elaborate a raw jewel with no treatment, for those who love to see how it changes over time and according to climate as if it’s been living together with you.
Also, on request, I can make a model of gold and platinum.
In recent years I’ve been also making handbags with unusual shapes, unique pieces preferably handcrafted and made with artisan fabrics, which I collect during my travels.
My creations began to be appreciated by the public and the press in 2000, when they were used for numerous articles in the most famous Italian publications (Vogue Gioiello, VanityFair, D di Repubblica, Io Donna, Anna, Glamor, the La Perla beachwear catalogue, the ad campaign for the Venice Film Festival of Wella).
.
Over time my art has been appreciated by many clients. Some particularly loyal ones showed off my creations bringing them, with my great pride and infinite joy, to public attention: Princess of Morocco Lalla Hasna, pianist Katia Labèque, actresses Mariagrazia Cucinotta and Paola Saluzzi, singer Silvia Mezzanotte, the voice of Matia Bazar.
Among the many compliments received with deep gratitude, I particularly remember with emotion those of Mrs. Bulgari, who during an exhibition in Rome gave me an appreciation for my creativity and competence in the realization.
– in 2018 I was selected to participate in the Sieraad jewellery fair in Amsterdam
– December 2011, among other 32 Italian and European artists, I participate in the Forma vs Materia exhibition, at the Galleria Cristiani in Turin, which presents the Turin public with a path between innovation and curiosity containing the new trends in Italian and European goldsmith art
– January 2007, I received an award at The New Italian Design exhibition at the Milan Triennale curated by Alba Cappellieri and was chosen with other 11 contemporary jewellery artists, among 100 in Italy, to represent nationally and internationally the new Italian jewellery design
